….puleeease someone explain to me WHY the doctor cant go back in time and find/see the ponds??!!

That would require him going back on his own timeline, same reason eh can’t go back to his other past companions (?). It would also be changing the future. Remember, Amy wrote that afterword as if she never saw the Doctor again, and if he saw her again, it would change his future which was “set in stone”.
right, EXCEPT, that wouldn’t be their past. it’s their future, even though it’s in the past. Like all the times he’s gone back in history. it’s not like he hasn’t crossed his own timeline 100 times.
I’m just kinda mad at Moffat cause I’m totally not satisfied with this reasoning. I think he could have made it air tighter. :(
And, why was it a fixed point in time?! (ugh, this is giving me a headache.) Normally I really get the timey wimey stuff…but I just think Moffat has some splainin’ to do still.
